George Clooney and wife Amal 'expecting twins'
39-year-old human rights lawyer reportedly due in June
George and Amal Clooney are expecting twins, it has been claimed.
The news was announced by US chat show host Julie Chen after the couple’s representatives reportedly confirmed the news.
Amal, 39, is said to be pregnant with a boy and a girl, and the babies are thought to be due in June.
“Beyoncé is not the only superstar expecting twins,” Ms Chen said on CBS show The Talk. “Congratulations are in order for George and Amal Clooney!”
Speculation the couple was expecting had grown in recent weeks after Amal, a high-flying human rights lawyer, was spotted with a hint of a bump.
The twins will be the first babies for the Hollywood power couple, who married in a star-studded ceremony in Venice in September 2014, just a year after they met.
The star-studded affair included guests such as Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, Bono, Anna Wintour, Bill Murray and Cindy Crawford.
In January, George, 55, had denied his wife was expecting, telling a reporter: “No. But I like that you started that rumour."
The Clooneys’ baby news came just a week after singer Beyonce confirmed she was pregnant with twins with husband Jay Z.
