Helena Bonham Carter’s parental advances were rejected by Prince William, after she came on a little too strongly at a party on the Caribbean island of Mustique.
The actress, who is married to Tim Burton, admitted that she had a few too many before she lunged at the opportunity to propose to the Prince.
Speaking to The Telegraph at a charity event hosted by the Duke of Cambridge at Windsor Castle for The Royal Marsden cancer hospital, she said:
“The Duke and I met before, along with the Duchess, before they were married, when I was staying on Mustique. I got very drunk at one point and I was determined to ask him to be a godfather to my daughter. He quite wisely said no.
“I admire him. He has got the same grace as both his parents.”

Show all 10Other guests at the event included supermodel Cara Delevingne, Cate Blanchett and Margot Robbie.
And supermodel Kate Moss, who was spotted in conversation with the Prince. Said conversation was later interpreted by one particular publication as “flirting” because she was “away from her husband Jamie Hince” for five minutes.
If that is the case, then he’ll have some serious explaining to do to over his social interactions with Benedict Cumberbatch last night:
The news comes as Clive Goodman, the former royal editor of Rupert Murdoch's News of the World, admitted to the Old Bailey that he had hacked the voicemails of Prince William, Prince Harry, and Kate Middleton.
The Duchess of Cambridge's phone was hacked 155 times, William's was illegally accessed 35 times and Harry's messages on nine occasions, the court was told.
