Show all 8Hang on, someone said talent shows like X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent are designed to find talent. Well, actually it seems they’re designed simply to entertain and that much of the British public is prepared to vote for their favourites on the basis of laughability rather than skill.
On Sunday Simon Cowell was left reeling from the near voting-off of one of his treasured contestants, while “evil twins” John and Edward gained the highest number of votes for their much criticised rendition of Ricky Martin’s “She Bangs”.
