Sport Relief music event attempting to raise smile from commuters elicits rather different reaction from man who could hear it from his hotel room

'It's 7 o'clock in the morning!': Angry man screams disrupts noisy charity rave

A hotel guest woken up at 7am by an early morning rave interrupted the charity dance by telling the DJ to “Turn this f***ing s*** off”.

The Sport Relief event was an attempt to raise a smile from commuters by getting them to dance in the name of charity.

But as the music started playing, a man – wearing just a pair of jeans, a T-shirt, and no shoes – stormed out of a nearby hotel and into the middle of the dancefloor.

Marching up to the DJ in Millennium Square, Bristol, he can be heard shouting: “It is seven o’clock in the morning, I was asleep in the f***ing hotel. Turn the f***ing noise down.”

The man then turned to the few passers-by who had stopped to dance to the music.

“Really? Do you consider this to be nice, at seven o’clock in the morning?” he yelled at the crowd.

The man accused a security guard of “assaulting” him after the worker touched him on the arm. “Do not touch me,” he added.

As one of the event organisers approached the man to explain the event was for charity, he replied: “It doesn’t matter what the excuse is, it is impolite.

“I’m trying to sleep in a room there, which I paid a lot of money for. I have been working hard.”

The event was organised by Sport Relief as part of its nationwide ‘Whatever Moves You’ campaign.

The event organisers said: “We’re really sorry this gentleman was disturbed during our breakfast party for Sport Relief.

“We had informed the hotel it was happening and it was an event that was fully licensed working with Millennium Square.

“Breakfast parties aren’t for everybody, but we certainly got a lot of people doing their steps for Sport Relief and raising awareness around the campaign.”
