President Trump has attacked influential groups of conservative Republicans after his health care failed to replace Obamacare.

In an early morning tweet on Sunday, Mr Trump lashed out at the House Freedom Caucus. "Democrats are smiling in D.C. that the Freedom Caucus, with the help of Club For Growth and Heritage, have saved Planned Parenthood & Ocare!"

The Freedom Caucus is a group of three dozen ultra-conservative lawmakers who planned to block Speaker Paul Ryan’s American Health Care Act bill, which was pulled from the House floor on Friday in a stunning defeat for the President.

Before the bill was pulled, President Trump didn’t want to discuss policy details with the group of lawmakers on Thursday, according to a report in Politico. "Forget about the little s**t," he reportedly told the Freedom Caucus on Thursday. "Let's focus on the big picture here."

However, the President’s freewheeling attitude only angered conservatives and the Obamacare replacement was at least 25 votes short of what it needed to pass.

Conservative groups The Heritage Foundation and the Club for Growth also opposed the health care plan written by Mr Ryan.
