A video of a man jumping into a woman’s car has gone viral on Twitter, sparking outrage and prompting discussions about the harassment women face on a day-to-day basis.

The video was allegedly posted to Instagram by Jasaun Hoggard, who opened the door to an unnamed woman's car, allowing himself and began filming her. The video's caption read: "I don't even know her lol #realsh*t #biddin."

The man can be heard saying: "what's your name, what's your name?" as the woman refused to make eye contact with him. He proceeds to shove the camera in her face: "She don't even wanna be in my video!"

A woman named Deej discovered the video and told The Independent that she immediately regret posting the footage on Twitter.

"It was on the explore page tab and I saved it and made what seem to be a huge mistake and posted it on Twitter where it went viral."

The video received nearly 2,000 retweets and 800 favorites before she deleted the post. She also said that she heard the video was staged but denied knowing either people in it.

Twitter users were seemingly outraged at what they saw and even unearthed personal photos from Mr Hoggard's mother's Facebook page.

Other uses maintained that they would call the Philadelphia police department as well as report Mr Hoggard's account on Instagram. The Philadelphia police department said they had no knowledge of the video.
