From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Liverpool's immediate Champions League future has come down to an all-or-nothing decider at home to Napoli next month following a frustrating 2-1 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in France.
Jurgen Klopp's side have to beat the Serie A side by more than one goal to ensure progress to the knockout stage having suffered a fourth successive Champions League away defeat - this being the first time they have lost all three away group games.
Juan Bernat and Neymar, whose 31st goal in the competition saw him leapfrog Kaka as the top-scoring Brazilian, put the hosts ahead before James Milner's penalty on the stroke of half-time offered hope.
But despite an improved second-half performance Liverpool could not find an equaliser, leaving themselves with it all do in what is certain to be a highly charged occasion in a fortnight's time.
Re-live all the action below:
Mauro Icardi, captain of Inter Milan was the hero when these sides met at the San Siro, his equaliser rousing the Italians for their last minute surge and winner.
Can he be the scourge of Tottenham again tonight?
And it's not just Icardi who will be hoping to help seal Inter's progress into the knockout stages but also the Croatian pair who gave England their biggest heartbreak for years in the semi-final of last Summer's World Cup.
Manchester United were heavily linked with Perisic a couple of summers ago, and Brozovic is another handful in midfield.
Can Spurs see off their threat on a vital game at Wembley?

Good play from Harry Kane sees him running at the Inter defenders.
He's at a pretty much impossible angle, on his left foot, but still gets his shot away and forces Handanovic into an unnatural save at his near post.

BIG claims for a penalty from all within Wembley as Politano challenged Lucas.
The referee waves away Spurs appeals and we've seen them given.
Don't blame him for not giving it, mind you.
