REDS’ PLAYER CHANGES AGENT IN ORDER TO FORCE THROUGH DEPARTURE
Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic has reportedly swapped agents in a bid to force through a departure from Anfield.
According to German publication Kicker, Grujic has changed his agent and Liverpool have now made it known to interested suitors that they are prepared to sell the player for around €20m, as opposed to sending him out on loan for another season.
Grujic spent last season on loan at Bundesliga outfit Hertha Berlin.
MBAPPE AVAILABLE FOR £91M NEXT SUMMER
French outlet L’ Equipe is reporting that French star Kylian Mbappe could be available for £91m next summer.
Liverpool are thought to be one of the many sides interested in the Paris-Saint Germain superstar.
Recent reports suggest that Mbappe has told the PSG hierarchy that he intends to leave the club next summer to pursue new challenges.
Now L’ Equipe claims that PSG would accept a fee in the region of €100m (£91m) for the 21-year-old.
PSG signed Mbappe for £164m from Monaco three years ago, and his contract expires in 2022, but is reportedly refusing to sign an extension.
This will cause PSG to sell him next summer, rather than let him leave for free the following year.
BARCA STILL IN THE HUNT FOR WIJNALDUM
Spanish giants Barcelona still intend to make a bid for Liverpool midfielder Gini Wijnaldum, according to a report in Spain.
Barca had been linked with the Dutch midfielder for a number of weeks, and it was thought his future might lie away from Anfield due to the arrival of Thiago Alcantara.
No bid has yet been forthcoming. However, Catalunya Radio makes the claim that coach Ronald Koeman still intends to make an attempt to sign Wijnaldum.
The reason for the lack of an official bid is due to the dire state of Barcelona’s finances.
However with the departures of Luis Suarez, Arturo Vidal and Nelson Semedo, there might be enough money to raise a bid for Wijnaldum before the end of the transfer window.
REDS MONITORING BELGIAN WINGER
Liverpool are monitoring a Belgian winger ahead of a potential bid in January or next summer.
According to Belgian outlet Het Belang van Limburg, The Reds are looking at Jeremy Doku of Anderlecht.
It's thought that Anderlecht would demand a fee in the region of £27million for the 18-year-old, and would like the option to take the player on a season-long loan as part of the deal.
The publication believes a bid is incoming either in January or next summer for the player.
ORIGI CONSIDERING FUTURE
Liverpool striker Divock Origi is considering his future at the club due to concerns about playing time.
Origi has chiefly been utilised as a back-up to striker Roberto Firmino, however the arrivals of Takumi Minamino and now Diogo Jota will see how playing time increasingly reduced.
Belgian outlet Het Belang van Limburg states that the striker is considering a future away from Anfield.
Origi made 28 appearances in the Premier League last season, and scored four times.
REDS’ BID FOR HIGHLY RATED YOUNGSTER ACCEPTED
Liverpool have seen a bid for highly-rated Motherwell youngster Sam Campbell accepted, according to PA Media.
Campbell, a defender, is believed to be rated highly by the Scottish club, and have reportedly also accepted offers from Leeds United and Brighton.
The defender’s price tag is unknown at present.
Campbell is 16-years-old.
WILSON CLOSE TO ANFIELD EXIT
Liverpool’s Harry Wilson is closing in on a move to Burnley, according to Sky Sports.
Wilson has been at the club since the age of nine, but has never made an appearance in the first team.
He spent the 2018-19 on loan at Derby County, and has also had various loan spells in the earliest stages of his career.
Sky Sports believes Burnley are close to agreeing a £15m with Liverpool for Wilson.
This would make Wilson The Clarets most expensive signing in their history.
REDS LOOK AT DORTMUND YOUNGSTER
Liverpool are being linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund’s Giovanni Reyna, according to a report in Germany.
The Premier League champions signed Thiago Alcantara from Bayern Munich last week, and now Bild reports that the Merseyside club are continuing to look to Germany for further reinforcements.
Reyna is an attacking midfielder and is only 17 years old, but has made an impression since breaking into the Dortmund first team.
It remains to be seen if The Reds will make a concrete bid for Reyna, as they currently have an abundance of attacking talent.
THIAGO A GREAT SIGNING SAYS ASSISTANT
Thiago Alcantara is a ‘great signing’, according to assistant coach Pep Lijnders.
Alcantara signed from Bayern Munich last week after seven years in Germany, and made his debut during the 2-0 win against Chelsea.
Speaking ahead of The Reds’ Carabao Cup clash with Lincoln, Lijnders spoke about the Thiago signing:
“He is a great signing. We didn’t buy a problem, we bought a solution,” said Jurgen Klopp’s right-hand man.
“Good teams need good players and we are really happy he is with us because this team especially deserves a player like him because he will make sure we keep evolving.
“Teams adapt, teams try to destroy our plans and what is most important is that we stay unpredictable and unpredictability means from each position we can play the last pass and we can speed up the games and Thiago does that for us.”
MANE TO HELP LIVERPOOL SEAL KOULIBALY DEAL
Liverpool’s Sadio Mane is playing an integral role in convincing Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly to join The Reds, according to The Sun.
The Senegalese defender has been linked with a move to Manchester City throughout the summer, but as of yet a deal hasn’t materialised.
Now The Sun states that Liverpool will use Mane to entice the 29-year-old Koulibaly to join the Premier League champions.
Mane sang the defender’s praises in July:
“Kalidou Koulibaly is an excellent defender, and one of the world's best in his position,” he said.
"I would be very happy to play alongside him at club level, as I have known him for years."
"We first got to know one another at Metz before meeting up once more in the Senegal national team.
"No club could refuse the chance to have Koulibaly in their squad.
"In any event, it would be a pleasure for me to play for Liverpool together with him. He would be more than welcome here."
