Transfer deadline day summer 2019: The deals done so far

Follow the latest updates live from the transfer window as we bring you the latest news, rumours and done deals throughout the summer ahead of the 8 August deadline. Arsenal are poised to announce their second signing of the summer in the form of St Etienne defender William Saliba, but they remain keen on Wilfried Zaha as well as moves for Kieran Tierney and Dani Ceballos.

The deal for Saliba will mean Tottenham have missed out on one of their targets, but the club are considering breaking their transfer record for the second time this month following the signing of Tangey Ndombele with a £70m offer for Real Betis’ Giovani Lo Celso. However, one name who could be leaving is Danny Rose, with Paris Saint-Germain and Schalke both interested in the available left-back.

Manchester United are ready to press on with their move for Bruno Fernandes by making an official bod for the Sporting midfielder, but Paul Pogba looks increasingly likely to stay at Old Trafford – largely because Real Madrid are going to give Gareth Bale one more chance at the Bernabeu, meaning they cannot afford their move for the United midfielder. Follow the latest news below.

The summer transfer window closes at 11pm on Thursday 8 August across the Premier League and Championship. The European transfer window remains open until Monday 2 September.

Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi and midfielder Radja Nainggolan are not in his plans for the new season, coach Antonio Conte has said.

''The club was very clear to tell that he (Icardi) is out of this project. This is the reality, he is gone,” Conte said, also adding that Nainggolan was also ''out of the project''.

Both Icardi and Nainggolan have been linked with a number of clubs this transfer window, including Manchester United and Juventus.

Conte also revealed his frustration at the club's inability to sign Manchester United's Romelu Lukaku.

''You know I like this player. I tried to bring him in Chelsea. Today Lukaku is a United player.''

Sheffield United boss, Chris Wilder, is ''very confident'' of re-signing goalkeeper Dean Henderson from Manchester United before the new Premier League season begins.

Henderson spent last season on loan at Brammal Lane, making 46 appearances as Sheffield United were promoted.

"I'm very confident that a deal for Dean will be done in the next three or four days. The boy had an outstanding season for us last season and wants to come back,'' Wilder said.

"I've always respected Manchester United's position but they're keen for him to come back, Dean wants to come back and play regular football - which is refreshing for a young player, who wants to prove himself - and I want it to happen as well."

MARCA are reporting that Christian Eriksen is Atletico Madrid's alternative should they be unable to sign James Rodriguez this summer.

James is willing and keen to move to the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano, but dealing with their arch rivals, Real Madrid, may prove to be a stumbling block.

Should a deal for the Colombian not materialise, Eriksen has been listed as Atletico's back-up as they search for a new playmaker.

Eriksen has made his intentions of leaving Spurs this summer clear as he pushes for a move away and is determined not to extend his contract at White Hart Lane, which ends in 2020.

The Dane has also been on the radar of Real Madrid, but manager Zidane is reluctant to add him to his squad.

ESPN are reporting that Barcelona are interested in signing Bayern Munich left-back David Alaba  as competiton for Jordi Alba.

Augsburg's Philipp Max and Real Betis' Junior Firpo are also being considered as alternatives should they fail to land their man.

“The player is interested in coming,” a source at Barcelona told ESPN FC. “It’s a complicated operation, but not an impossible one.”

Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard, has said that he want's defender Kurt Zouma to stay at the club amid rumours linking him with a move back to Everton.

The Frenchman spent last season on loan at Goodinson Park, and despite Everton's desire to sign him on a permanent basis, Lampard insists he still has a role to play.

''Kurt is a very good defender, a very good person and professional, and I want him here, simple as that. We are competitive with the centre-backs we’ve got in the team. He had a very good season at Everton and I understand why they want him, but he’s a Chelsea player and I want him.''
