Bayern Munich 4-3 Manchester United: Erik ten Hag’s men lose a third consecutive game but show promise
Manchester United slumped to a third consecutive defeat after a promising start to their Champions League opener against Bayern Munich.
Christian Eriksen should have opened the scoring inside the first five minutes only to be denied by a sharp save from Sven Ulreich. A howler from Andre Onana then gave the hosts the opening goal and they continued to flow on a strange night in Munich.
Leroy Sane added a second before the break and Rasmus Hojlund netted his first goal for United to give them hope of a comeback after the restart.
Eriksen was harshly judged to have handled the ball which led a a penalty that Harry Kane dispatched with ease. Casemiro then score twice - either side of a Mathys Tel rocket - but United couldn’t rescue a draw.
