Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Jordan Henderson will not be available for his side’s clash with top-six rivals Arsenal on Saturday.

Henderson is currently suffering from a foot injury which kept him out of the Reds’ 3-1 defeat by Leicester on Monday night and the midfielder is now set to miss Saturday’s game too.

“Jordan is too soon for sure," Klopp said. "Dejan we will see. He trained yesterday, now we have to see how he reacts on this.

“If nobody tells me different, we have to make a decision. He was out for four weeks, training three days. I’m not sure about it.”

The Liverpool captain has suffered a number of injuries this season that have seen him sidelined.

Prior to his most recent foot injury, the 26-year-old limped off midway through the 1-0 victory over Manchester City on New Year’s Eve and was missing for the side’s following clash with Sunderland.

His absence from Klopp’s starting XI has seriously hindered Liverpool’s form and results this season.

Their win rate with Henderson in the side has been 61.5 per cent so far. Without him, this figure has stood at 33.3 per cent.

Liverpool notably struggled without the England international on Monday night as they were swept aside by relegation contenders Leicester.

The Reds lacked direction and purpose to their game while their defence appeared to unravel as Emre Can struggled to provide the same defensive cover that Henderson brings.
