Newcastle United host Arsenal in the 1330 BST kick-off at St James’ Park with both sides on the fringes of their respective Premier League battles.

For the Gunners, the top four is now out of sight and they are content with chasing Chelsea in fifth above them while holding off the charge of Burnley from below.

Newcastle meanwhile are sitting pretty above the relegation scrap, seemingly safe on 38 points, and can now target a top-half finish which would be an impressive achievement from a squad which many experts tipped to struggle this season.

Vincent Kompany reacts to title win

On the feeling of winning to Sky Sports: "Its the same feeling as the first time you can't describe it. The first time you win it you think you're going to win all of them. When you lose you feel like you're going to lose all of them. You want to hold on to this feeling.

On waiting for Manchester United to lose: "I had that feeling when I woke up this morning. I don't like to wait and see a team lose, it was a different experience today. West Brom are a good team, as they stuck into the game, you realise something could happen and it's a wonderful goal from (Jay) Rodriguez, thank you!

On watching with a United fan: "We've got reds in the family, we have blues in the family, it's banter. He's a better loser than a winner!

On preparing for next season: "You can't take anything for granted, before you know it its gone. I suppose my teammates will roll their eyes, but I want to see their reaction, I've never retained a title.

On what makes this year different: "It differs in the fact we were consistent the whole season we were able to stay at a level we are expected to perform at . A lot of times you can say we nearly threw it away, we had character came back and did a job.

On if he met Pep Guardiola earlier in his career: "Its one of the first things it think I noted even before we won anything, if I met him when I was 20, 18, I would have been the perfect player for his and improve so much. Any player playing under him has had success because the way he has improved them as individuals. At my age you can still learn, we share one thing is that hunger and desire to never be satisfied, I may be the first one thinking about next season. I'd like to stay humble, it's not a dynasty it's just one title, there's still work to be done before we see the best from the team.

On believing that Guardiola would deliver a title: "I think we all believed in it otherwise it wouldn't happen. We needed a period of adaptation, for him to come to the Premier League for the first time and for us to take in all the new information. His methods were the right ones, we believed in him. I'm sure there's differences between us and Bayern (Munich) or Barcelona. We survive and live by the strength of the team, the other team was dominant in Germany and one had (Lionel) Messi.

On his favourite title: "The favourite one has to be the first one its not even a difficult question to answer, City fans will understand. It's like carrying a rock or a stone and getting rid of it. This one I'm proud about by the way we've done it.

On the age of the squad: We brought in a lot of youth over the years its made me able to feel younger, you're around young people without stress or worries, they have fun. I've got all these memories and experience I want to share but in the most part you have to let them do it. It's a privilege to be a part of the team.

On celebrating tonight: "My wife is the wildest one! I'll go and meet the lads it's special, it's a special moment."
