Kyle Walker has revealed that his desire to work with Pep Guardiola was one of the main factors behind his decision to quit Tottenham Hotspur for Manchester City .
On Friday afternoon City announced that they had signed Walker from Tottenham on a five-year deal, for a fee possibly rising to £53m.
Walker is City’s third signing of the summer, after the arrivals of Bernardo Silva from Monaco and the goalkeeper Ederson, from Benfica.
“I am thrilled to be signing for City and I cannot wait to get started,” Walker told the club’s official website.
“Pep Guardiola is one of the most respected managers in the world and I feel he can help me take my game to a new level.”
City’s Director of Football, Txiki Begiristain, praised Walker’s talent at both ends of the pitch upon his unveiling.
