Arteta responds to "celebration police" comments from pundits

Arsenal demolished West Ham at the London Stadium to keep up the pace with Manchester City and Liverpool in the title race. In a totally one-sided affair, the Gunners started strongly forcing saves out of Alphonse Areola before a set piece helped them into the lead. William Saliba leapt highest from a corner to nod home the opener.

David Moyes’ side then fell apart and Arsenal took complete control with slick passing, fine runs and a clinical eye for goal. Bukayo Saka won and converted a penalty to score the second before Gabriel headed home a third. Leandro Trossard curled in a fine finish from just inside the box to make it four goals before half-time.

After the break, Saka added a fifth with his second of the afternoon and the icing on the cake came from Declan Rice who slotted home a long range effort against his former club to secure all three points.

82 mins: A rare foray forward for West Ham as Kudus shows good footwork to get round Elneny’s sliding challenge.

His eventual effort is blocked well by Raya before Bowen’s effort is blocked behind for a corner.

GOAL! West Ham 0-6 Arsenal (Rice, 66 mins)

Rice has a goal against his former club and Arsenal have a sixth just two minutes later!

White’s cutback goes between Odegaard and Trossard but falls to Rice about 25 yards out from goal. Rice tries his luck and it’s a sensational first-time effort that flies into the top corner.

No celebrations from the former West Ham man.

GOAL! West Ham 0-5 Arsenal (Saka, 63 mins)

It’s five and so, so easy for Arsenal.

Neither Emerson nor Aguerd are remotely close to Saka and when Odegaard feeds him the ball on the edge of the box, there is only one thing on his mind.

The forward cuts inside onto his left before slamming the ball past a helpless Areola. His second of the game and it just gets worse for the home fans.

West Ham 0-4 Arsenal

58 mins: SAVE! A mazy run from Saka inside the West Ham box but Areola is equal to the eventual effort, extending a right hand out well to prevent the effort.

Kiwior is close to the rebound but can’t quite get the necessary connection on his effort.
