There have been a number of historic British races since the official Formula One world championship was born at Silverstone in 1950.

There have also been many notable British successes, from Stirling Moss in 1957 though to Lewis Hamilton last year. And who knows, maybe even Jenson Button this.

One thing is for certain, the British Grand Prix is rarely dull, so here we take a look back at some of the classics.
