Eddie Jones on Six Nations clash with Scotland

England take on Scotland at Murrayfield in the Six Nations on Saturday with the Calcutta Cup on the line as well as both side’s championship hopes, with the visitors still looking to claim after their 100 per cent start.

Having seen off Italy and Wales so far, Eddie Jones’ side will look to take their third step towards retaining the Six Nations for a second time and become the first team to win the championship consecutively three times in a row.

But Scotland will have been buoyed by their victory over France last time out that made up for the disappointing 34-7 reverse against Wales on the opening weekend, and with a second consecutive match at home, Gregor Townsend will hope to see a partisan Murrayfield crowd inspire his side to a first victory over the English since 2008 and maintain their own hopes of claiming the title.

We're 15 minutes away from kick-off in the day's opening fixture as Ireland take on Wales, with the home side's Six Nations Grand Slam hopes still very much alive thanks to their narrow win over France and crushing victory over Italy last time out. Wales are far from out of the title frame though, as despite the 12-6 defeat by England two weeks ago, they can take a step in the right direction by beating the Irish today.

If Wales then go on to beat England on the final weekend, we could have as many as three teams who have lost just one match come the end of the championship, which will almost certainly end in a mad dash for the calculators!

3 mins: Ireland 0-3 Wales

Leigh Halfpenny gets an early chance to kick for goal as Bundee Aki claims the ball in an offside position. A messy start for the hosts, and Halfpenny lands the kick beautifully.

5 mins: Ireland 0-3 Wales

Ireland land an immediate chance to get back on level terms as Wales infringe in the ruck, following a good restart that was plucked out of the air by James Ryan. Sexton's kick rattles off the upright though, and the chance is missed. A frantic start in Dublin.

7 mins: Ireland 5-3 Wales

TRY! Ireland don't rue the missed penalty for long! They take advantage of a Welsh forward pass to attack inside the Welsh 22, and after a good run from Chris Farrell, Conor Murray delivers the ball to Johnny Sexton and he whips a flat miss pass to Jacob Stockdale, who scores in the corner with a neat finish. Sexton can't convert the try, but Ireland lead.

13 mins: Ireland 5-3 Wales

Ireland have definitely settled the better of the two sides after that early blemish and they are winning numerous penalties from referee Glen Jackson at the breakdown. The latest, against Alun Wyn Jones, gives Sexton another shot at goal.

15 mins: Ireland 5-3 Wales

It's another miss from Sexton, and he certainly doesn't look himself from the tee today. He came into the match under a slight injury concern suffered during yesterday's captain's run, and he is certainly kicking like a lame duck today.

20 mins: Ireland 5-10 Wales

TRY! Wales bite back! A penalty allows Biggar to kick to touch on the 22, and Aaron Shingler's clean ball at the lineout the visitors attack. Two carries later, scrum-half Gareth Davies takes the ball across the field, before cutting a line inside Cian Healy and dives over for the score. Sexton finally lands a kick - from right in front of the posts - and Wales are back in front.
