Beach break in Biarritz: Travel challenge

Where to go and what to do

Each week we invite three companies to offer us their best deal for a specific break. Today: a beach break in the French city of Biarritz, situated on the Bay of Biscay. Prices are per person, based on two people travelling together. Each includes a week's accommodation and flights from the UK in early August.

£472 - Expedia.co.uk

Includes Ryanair flights from Stansted on 6 August and room-only at the Mercure Le President Biarritz Centre. "Located in one of France's most beautiful seaside towns, this hotel is within walking distance of the beach," says Andy Washington (0800 783 2384; expedia.co.uk).

£630 - easyJet Holidays

Includes easyJet flights from Luton on 1 August and B&B at the Best Western Plus Karitza. "This hotel offers a great city-centre location in Biarritz but is also within easy walking distance of the beach for lazy days," says Mandy Round (0843 104 1000; easyjet.com/holidays).

£506 - ebookers

Includes Ryanair flights from Stansted on 1 August and room-only at the Escale Oceania Biarritz. "This hotel was entirely renovated in 2008 and stands 300 metres from the beach, on one of Biarritz's most beautiful avenues," says Jessica Craker (020 3320 3320; ebookers.com).
