Prague hotel tops world's ten best

A Prague hotel has been voted the best in the world by users of the hotel review site TripAdvisor, according to data released January 19.

The Golden Well (U Zlate Studne) hotel in the Czech capital topped the list from TripAdvisor for the second year running - last time it was recognized as the best luxury (4 & 5 star) hotel in the world.

Despite having only 17 rooms and two suites, the hotel offers the services of a much larger property, such as wine upon arrival and a rooftop restaurant, clearly making it a hit with users of the review site.

In second place were the Anastatis Apartments in Santorini, Greece, described by one TripAdvisor user as "nothing but the best," while the Ried Le Calife in Fez, Morocco won third place.

Somewhat surprisingly, none of the top hotels in the world were in the US - six were in Europe, while Africa, the Caribbean, South America and Asia boasted one each.

The result were compiled using a combination of the site's Popularity Index and traveler ratings of specific property attributes.
