The Line Hotel opens in a mid-century building in LA's Koreatown enclave on 12 December. It's the latest from The Sydell Group, of Ace hotels fame, with an all-star line-up that includes Korean-American chef Roy Choi for the Pot restaurant, nightlife maestros The Houston Brothers for the Speek bar and designer Sean Knibb for the interiors.

4. Jog on

A new range of marathon training camps is due to launch in Morocco from 11 January. Led by experienced coaches and nutritionists, they will be based at a rustic estate in the Atlas mountains just outside Marrakech,and will cost from £1,495pp for a week's stay, with transfers, training and full board, but not flights.

6. Tangled tape

Indian tourism officials have said there is no possibility that the new £92 visa fee will be reduced. In place of the much-trailed "visa on arrival", a curious "collective permit" for a group of at least four people, assembled by a registered Indian travel agency, is being introduced – allowing tourists to travel to the country without a visa in advance. The Thomson Dream will move to a new home in Montego Bay, Jamaica for the 2014/15 season, with five new Caribbean and Latin American itineraries going on sale from Thursday. 8. Viennese whirl

Ninety events are due to take place during Vienna Art Week. Head to the Austrian capital between 18-24 November to take part in exhibition openings, artist talks, performances and lectures.
