LD Lines is increasing its capacity on the Dover-Boulogne route by introducing the world's biggest diesel-powered catamaran. There will now be six return journeys per day, taking as little as an hour each way ( ldlines.com).

Working farms around the UK are opening their gates on Sunday for Open Farm Day. Each farm will host its own events, from tours and tractor rides to sheep-shearing and barbecues, giving visitors a better idea of where their food comes from (farmsunday.org). Meanwhile, Hotel Missoni opens in Edinburgh on Monday. The Milanese fashion house's first hotel features suitably vibrant décor as well as those all important Missoni textiles ( hotelmissoni.com).

The Ibiza Rocks season kicks off on Tuesdays from 16 June to 8 September. Bands who will be playing the outdoor live music festival include MGMT, the Kooks, Klaxons and Vampire Weekend ( ibizarocks.com).
