Travel Challenge: A Mediterranean sailing holiday
Friday 18 May 2012
Each week, we invite three companies to offer us their best deal for a specific holiday.
Today: a summer sailing holiday in the Mediterranean. Prices are per person, based on two people travelling together. Each package includes a week's accommodation on board the respective boats as well as flights from the UK in June.
£1,360: Essential Sailing
Includes a private cabin aboard a shared yacht sailing along Italy's Ligurian coast (including the Cinque Terre villages) and Ryanair flights from Stansted to Genoa on 16 June. "Our holidays offer a fully-crewed, turn-up-and-go service," says Richard Reeves of Essential Sailing (0845 653 0126; essentialsailing.com).
Includes private yacht charter as part of a larger flotilla of boats for a cruise around Turkey's Lycian coast, flying Thomson Airways from Gatwick to Dalaman on 30 June. "Our flotilla holidays include snorkelling equipment and an end-of-week regatta," says Louise Neville of Sunsail (0844 463 6578; sunsail.co.uk).
