A fare of pounds 572 return from Heathrow to Australia is nothing unusual these days, but the latest deal from Quest Worldwide (081-547 3322) is remarkable for stopover possibilities. En route to Brisbane, Darwin or Perth you can choose any or all of Abu Dhabi, Bangkok, Brunei, Dubai, Frankfurt or Singapore. Travel (even if only as far as Frankfurt) must commence by 15 June, but then the ticket is valid for a year. Royal Brunei does not serve alcohol - but cabin crew are happy to open wine you bring aboard.
