MA FOI] You mad British people are desperate to acquire a French version of Terminator 2. Two weeks ago I promised a copy to the first person to tell me where Jacques Tati's classic Monsieur Hulot's Holiday was filmed.

Postcards flooded in: some had the answer - others such as John Hewett of London were desperate to know the answer ('Please let us all know - IN CAPS]'). The first correct answer, not in caps, came from H Stern of Sheffield. 'It was filmed in St Marc, which is between La Baule and St Nazaire on the south-east Brittany coast. Much of the action was set at the Hotel de la Plage, where we stayed when we discovered the site by chance in 1966.' I hope Mr Stern likes Arnold Schwarzenegger (dubbed into French).
