Commuters are facing major disruption after signal failures hit two London Underground lines.

Parts of the Hammersmith & City route were closed from around 5am on Friday, with no trains running between Hammersmith and Barking eastbound or between Edgware Road and Hammersmith westbound as staff worked to fix the fault.

The line was reopened at around 7.20am but is operating with severe delays, Transport for London (TfL) said.

The Circle line was plagued by severe delays and part-suspended, with no service between Hammersmith and Edgware Road.

Both lines were also hit by severe delays on Thursday evening due to signal failures and faulty trains.
