Watch Richard Tandy’s last year performing in ELO before his death
One of Richard Tandy’s last concerts with Electric Light Orchestra was during the band’s Alone In the Universe Tour in 2016.
Videos of the keyboard player’s performances have resurfaced following the news of his death, which was announced by Jeff Lynne on Wednesday night (1 May).
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee originally served as a bassist in the Birmingham group before switching to keyboards.
He was known for providing the distinct vocoder sound on “Mr Blue Sky.”
“He was a remarkable musician & friend and I’ll cherish the lifetime of memories we had together,” Lynne said of his long-time collaborator.
