Bear roams inside Indian temple ‘in search of shrine offerings’

A bear caused chaos after wandering into a temple in India on Sunday, 13 August.

The mammal strayed into the Shikhareshwar Temple in Andhra Pradesh, roaming around a shrine.

It eventually left the building after it was spotted by security personnel; according to local reports, onlookers chased the wild animal away with the help of bright torch lights.

The bear has purportedly visiting the temple regularly to eat coconut, which is offered to a shrine by visitors to the religious site.
