Euro 2020 final: Ecstatic England fans celebrate Luke Shaw goal

England fans across the country erupted in elation when Luke Shaw gave their team a spectacular start in the Euro 2020 final against Italy, volleying Gareth Southgate’s side ahead inside the first two minutes.

Jubilant white-and-red-clad supporters can be seen jumping up and down, hugging and spraying drinks in fan zones in Manchester and London. On the capital’s Trafalgar Square, they climbed on benches and screamed in celebration.

But Italy equalised after 67 minutes and after a tense end to normal time, a stalemate in extra time led to a penalty shootout, with England falling agonisingly short at the final hurdle.
