Anyone feeling as pallid at the thought of the impending royal birth as the Duchess of Cambridge appeared this morning might like to invest in artwork by Lydia Leith.

Following on from her limited edition Royal Wedding Sick Bag, the artist has come up with a vessel to accommodate extreme reactions to the new third in line to the throne – Royal Morning Sickness sick bags (pictured).

Bearing the header “Shake, Rattle and Rule”, they are emblazoned with the artist’s impression of William and Catherine’s infant in both pink and blue (for a boy or a girl).

The Duchess looked relaxed but pale this morning as she emerged from the King Edward VII Hospital, London where she has been being treated for several days for acute morning sickness.

Leith’s sick bags have proved popular at high profile royal occasions including the nuptials of Kate and Wills and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee last summer.

They are screen printed by hand and cost £3 each.
