It has been revealed that the author of the mysteriously untitled book that has been making rounds on social media is not Taylor Swift but the Korean band BTS.

Last week, an anonymous book arrived on multiple bookseller websites under the name 4C Untitled Flatiron Nonfiction Summer 2023.

Many Swift fans began speculating that the book was a memoir written by the 33-year-old singer, following a number of alleged “Easter eggs” in her recent social media posts.

Publishing house Flatiron Books, however, has revealed that the mystery book is, in fact, written by Grammy-nominated band BTS.

The book is titled Beyond the Story: 10-Year Record of BTS, and is written by journalist Myeongseok Kang alongside bandmates RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook.

Prior to the reveal, fans had believed that the memoir was written by Swift since it was announced that the author would be unveiled on 13 June. The number 13 is known to be the “Red” singer’s favourite number.

The same date, however, is also the 10th anniversary of BTS’s first single “No More Dream”, which was released in 2013.

Last week, the Grammy-winner also announced that she would be releasing the re-recorded version of her 2010 album Speak Now on 7 July.

Swift said that the record would be out on 7 July, “just in time for July 9th, IYKYK (if you know, you know)”.

The date “9 July” is referenced in the album’s track “Last Kiss” and is also the publishing date of the mystery book, which confused fans further.

The speculation surrounding the author of the book has made it a bestseller on Amazon as well as Barnes & Noble last week.

At the moment, BTS has taken a hiatus while some bandmembers complete their military service in South Korea.

The “Love Story” singer is currently touring the US on her Eras tour and will be playing shows until July.
