Should have put a sing on it: Queen Beyoncé rebuffed as she tries to duet with Princess Eugenie at O2

Queen Bey is reported to have bowed down to duet with Princess Eugenie during her Mrs Carter world tour at The O2 on Monday night.

According to The Mirror, Beyoncé pointed her microphone in the direction of Princess Eugenie and encouraged her to sing “Irreplaceable” lyrics “to the left, to the left”.

Reports suggest that Beyoncé, 31, had no idea that she had selected one of the British Royal family, and continued to encourage the Princess to sing along in front of an audience of 80,000. The 23-year-old is said to have mimed instead.

Princess Eugenie was reported to be at the show with Kate Middleton’s brother, James, and TV presenter Donna Air.

Beyoncé’s Mrs Carter tour has caused controversy after it was revealed that the princess of pop’s management banned professional photographs of the star. Only authorised shots from Beyoncé’s publicist are being distributed, although many fans have posted photos to Twitter.

Fans were also left disappointed after Beyoncé failed to return for an encore despite reportedly performing one during the Birmingham leg of her tour last week. The star left the stage at 11pm on Monday and Tuesday nights after a two hour set to her final song “Green Light”.

A spokesperson for The O2 said: “The O2 has to adhere to its licensing curfew, which is set by the council, and for the Beyoncé gig last night it was 11pm.”

The Mrs Carter world tour continues at The 02 until 5 May before transferring to the Manchester Arena until 9 May.
