Isle of Wight festival has announced its lineup for 2021, as the latest in a number of live music events planning to go ahead this year.

The festival, which takes place this year between 16-19 September, will be headlined by Liam Gallagher, Snow Patrol, David Guetta and Duran Duran.

They will be joined by special guests Tom Jones and The Script, along with Sam Fender, Primal Scream, Kaiser Chiefs, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Razorlight and Scouting for Girls.

Festival promoter John Giddings said in a press release that organisers had been “watching and learning” from the festivals taking place before Isle of Wight, and would continue to speak with “all the relevant authorities to make sure everyone is kept safe”.

The announcement comes shortly after Parklife Festival in Manchester sold out in just over an hour, following its lineup reveal that includes Meghan Thee Stallion and an exclusive performance from British rapper Dave.

Parklife founder Sacha Lord, who has been a vocal campaigner for live events during the pandemic, tweeted his astonishment at the demand.

Tickets for both festivals are on sale now.
