Album: Leona Lewis, Echo, (Syco/Sony)
The problem for Lewis on her follow-up album is that while this is the exact point at which she should be marking out her own territory, Echo feels and sounds even more a part of the X Factory than her debut album.
There's still nothing not to love and, talentwise, the girl from Hackney is up there with anyone you care to name from Hollywood. But Echo plays it so safe it could have been made by any female singer of the past 25 years. As air brushed as its cover art, this is Leona as generic diva when she could be so much more.
