A teenager who Jose Mourinho allegedly pushed after he asked him for a photo has hit back at suggestions that he and his friend followed the Chelsea manager for 20 minutes.

Footage released exclusively by The Independent appeared to show Mr Mourinho becoming angry after teenage fans Sonnie Burgess, 16, and Otto Nahmmacher, 14, approached him for a photograph in the up-market Knightsbridge shopping area of London.

When Mr Mourinho spotted the pair in the video, the manager appeared to move towards the camera before the screen erratically shakes.

Responding to the allegations, a spokesman for Mr Mourinho told a press conference: “While Jose understands the laws pertaining to filming in public places, the two teenagers in question followed him from his home for 20 minutes and constantly interrupted a private phone call, which he and the club believes goes beyond the grounds of reasonable behaviour.”

The spokesman went on to “strongly refute” allegations of intimidation.

However, Mr Burgess has denied that he followed Mr Mourinho, whom he described as his “hero”.

“What he said in his conference was outrageous.

“I was bit nervous [when I saw him], he’s a big idol of ours and we loved him. When I did ask him for a photo, he grabbed me and pushed me, and my friend also got pushed.

“I didn’t [follow him for 20 minutes]. I spotted Jose Mourinho and asked for a picture, he said no and my mate wanted to ask for a picture, so we followed him for about three minutes.

“This whole ordeal was over in around six minutes. We didn’t follow him from his home his home because we don’t know where he lives - unless he lives in the Louis Vuitton shop in Knightsbridge.”

Mr Burgess is now calling on the Chelsea coach to apologise.

“I’m genuinely saddened by the response from Jose’s spokesman as they’re trying to persuade people that it’s not a big deal, but he over-reacted and he needs to accept that. I want him to apologise.

"I don't belive I was being intrsuvie I was just excited and suprised at the fact I'd just met my idol. If Jose belives I was purposely being intrusive and aggressive, I apologise.

"I entered the situation surprised and I left it scared."
