Bournemouth 2018/19 Premier League profile

Bournemouth take on Crystal Palace at the Vitality Stadium as two of the Premier League's mid-table staples bid to stake a claim for the top half of the league.

Palace come into the game three points behind the Cherries having ended a run of three straight defeats with a win over Huddersfield and a frustrating goalless draw against Newcastle.

Bournemouth's fast start to the season came to a strange halt at Burnley where they were thrashed 4-0, but Eddie Howe's side can climb up to seventh in the table with all three points tonight.

Good evening everyone. Half-an-hour until team news from the Vitality Stadium.

We are now, of course, into October (!) and as such it is a little cooler tonight on the South Coast.

One man making an early-season impact for the Cherries is Ryan Fraser. The compact Caledonian is in fine form:

A win for Bournemouth could take them as high as 6th, while visitors Crystal Palace would leapfrog their hosts with victory and move into the top half.

Eddie Howe's side are likely still smarting after their 4-0 humbling at the hands of Burnley last time out in the league, but were spared further ignominy in the Carabao Cup thanks to Callum Wilson's injury-time winner against Blackburn.

A comfortable 3-0 away victory against West Brom saw Palace progress. They drew with Newcastle in their most recent Premier League fixture.

TEAM NEWS

Just the single change for Crystal Palace. Max Meyer starts in place of Cheikhou Kouyate in midfield.

So a first start in the Premier League for Max Meyer, and in Christian Benteke's absence Jordan Ayew continues to be the preferred option up front. Looks like a 4-3-3.

Adam Smith shows his versatility folding over to left-back for the Cherries, with Simon Francis taking the armband from right back. A 4-4-2, with Callum Wilson and Joshua King leading the line.
