Bournemouth take on Crystal Palace at the Vitality Stadium as two of the Premier League's mid-table staples bid to stake a claim for the top half of the league.

Palace come into the game three points behind the Cherries having ended a run of three straight defeats with a win over Huddersfield and a frustrating goalless draw against Newcastle.

Bournemouth's fast start to the season came to a strange halt at Burnley where they were thrashed 4-0, but Eddie Howe's side can climb up to seventh in the table with all three points tonight.

A home win for Bournemouth then. They were excellent in the first half and took an early lead thanks to David Brooks' first goal for the club, the Welsh winger curling one in to the top corner from the edge of the box.

Palace came out firing in the second half and an equally excellent finish from Patrick Van Aanholt put them level ten minutes after the resumption, though the left-back should have been flagged offside. 

Bournemouth resurged as the second half wore on but when Wayne Hennessey made strong saves from Callum Wilson and Dan Gosling it looked like Palace may secure an away draw.

However, with minutes left, Mamadou Sakho's elbow made itself familiar with Jefferson Lerma's face to hand Bournemouth victory, substitute Junior Stanislas taking the resulting penalty nicely and securing the 2-1 win.
