Chris Evans and Chris Pratt settle Super Bowl bet with philanthropic Marvel crossover

The pair agreed to a heroic act of charity that sees the Star Lord and Captain America team up for cancer sufferers

Seahawks fan Chris Pratt and New England Patriots devotee Chris Evans heroically settled their Super Bowl wager on Sunday by agreeing to a spectacle that would leave most adult Marvel fans sick with envy.

Despite winning the bet and watching his team romp to victory in the biggest NFL game of the season, Evans will join Pratt when the pair visit Seattle Children’s Hospital and Christopher’s Haven in Boston in full costume this week.

That means Pratt dressed as the Star-Lord, wearing a Tom Brady jersey, and Evans showing up in full Captain America garb, waving a 12th man flag.

And it's probably the biggest Marvel news since Stan Lee hinted that a huge cross-over movie could happen if the studio was able to acquire the rights to the characters it wanted.

"It's something that Marvel is very concerned about," the 91-year-old comic creator said at a Q&A in December. "It's very difficult to bring 'em all together because these characters are so successful and make so much money that the studios that have the rights don't want to let them go. So that's something that all the lawyers and all the production companies have to work out. Whether they get it worked out, I don't know."

His comments followed Marvel's announcement that Benedict Cumberbatch will take on the role of Doctor Strange in a newly commissioned film adaptation.

The movie is set to hit the big screen in 2016.
