MP refuses to boycott GB News in wake of Laurence Fox’s ‘sexist’ rant

Lucy Frazer, the culture secretary, has refused to boycott GB News following Laurence Fox’s “vile” and “misogynistic” comments about a female journalist.

Fox launched into a rant about Ava Evans, political correspondent for the online news site Joe, during Dan Wootton’s show last night, claiming she was a “little woman” and that he wouldn’t want to “shag” her.

Ms Frazer was questioned on the comments during Good Morning Britain on Wednesday (27 September) and while she described them as “unacceptable”, she stopped short of suggesting MPs should not be appearing on channels that broadcast “that sort of content”.

Scottish National Party leader Stephen Flynn, meanwhile, urged Ofcom to “step up” as he slammed Wootton and Fox over the “vile” discussion, which GMB host Susanna Reid described as “very sexualised”.

In a statement on social media website X on Wednesday morning, GB News confirmed they have “formally suspended” Fox while they investigate his comments.
