A new photograph has been released to mark the 73rd birthday of Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall on 17 July.

The picture was taken in the garden of Clarence House, the official London residence of the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall.

The image shows the royal wearing a blue silk linen Anna Valentine dress and smiling at the camera, surrounded by green foliage in the garden.

Camilla was born on 17 July 1947 in London, growing up in East Sussex and South Kensington.

The royal has taken part in several virtual engagements during lockdown, recently assuming the position of guest editor of BBC Radio 5 Live’s The Emma Barnett Show.

During her appearance on the show, the Duchess of Cornwall spoke about her life in lockdown, saying that she “shall look forward to the day” when she can hug her grandchildren again.

She also spoke about her husband the Prince of Wales, saying he is the “fittest man she knows for his age”.

Prince Charles came out of self-isolation in late March after testing positive for the coronavirus.

While speaking to Emma Barnett on the radio segment, the duchess warned that the numbers of people suffering from domestic abuse could drastically increase during lockdown, stating her belief that the statistics will be “horrific”.

Camilla, who recently became a patron of domestic abuse charity SafeLives, has spoken out on several occasions about domestic abuse through her work as a member of the royal family.

In April, the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall celebrated their 15th anniversary in lockdown by releasing a new photograph of themselves with their two dogs.

It marked the first time the couple had been pictured together since Prince Charles’ positive Covid-19 diagnosis.

The picture was taken on the porch of Birkhall, their home on the Balmoral estate in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

In June, it was reported that the couple were travelling from Scotland to their London residence.
