Premier League transfer round-up: Victor Lindelof joins Man United

The summer transfer window is here and up and down the country clubs are getting their business done early.

Manchester United have money to spend - and have already signed Victor Lindelof for £35m - but may be forced to shell out as much as £70m for both Alvaro Morata, while Andrea Belotti looks like he will stay at Torino.

Chelsea's main man, Diego Costa, looks like he will be on his way after being told he is surplus to requirements by manager Antonio Conte.

Manchester City already have two players with Monaco's Bernardo Silva and Benfica goalkeeper Ederson in through the door, while Arsenal have snapped up Schalke's Sead Kolasinac on a free.

Liverpool are closing in on a deal for Mohamed Salah as they continue to negotiate with Roma over a fee but won't be adding Virgil van Dijk after being forced to apologise to Southampton for an illegal approach.

Everton are the big spenders so far in the window, signing Jordan Pickford from Sunderland for £30m while Ajax's Davy Klaassen for £23.6m.

We will have all the latest throughout the day here so don't touch that dial.

Pickford relaxed over big fee

Following, his £30m move to Everton, Jordan Pickford is now the most expensive British goalkeeper as well as the third most costly goalkeeper in the world.

Not that the 23-year-old minds all that much.

“It’s just a number isn’t it? It’s my job to be a goalkeeper and keep the ball out of the net and that’s what I’ve done. I’ve kept a clean sheet. It’s just a number, it doesn’t affect me," he said following England's 0-0 draw with Sweden at the U21 Euros.

“I got the deal out of the way and over the line so I could focus on the Euros. I didn’t know too much about it until I came out here but got that done so I could focus on trying to win the Euros.

“When I heard about it and they said they were sorting the medical so it could go through, it’s nice to get it out of the way.”

Sanchez future remains unclear

Former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Petit has said that Alexis Sanchez will wait and see who Arsene Wenger signs this summer before deciding whether or not to stay at the club.

With the 28-year-old’s current deal set to end in 2018, there is a growing expectation that Manchester City will soon bid £50m to try and test Arsenal’s position.

The Independent understands that the Chilean international’s first preference had been to remain in London because he loves the city so much. Arsenal hope that means he will remain at the club, although city rivals Chelsea have also expressed an interest in the player.

But Petit thinks Sanchez’s decision will ultimately come down to Arsenal’s transfer strategy this summer.
