Play it again, Chas: Chas & Dave make their big comeback

Hits such as Snooker Loopy, Rabbit and Gertcha established Chas & Dave as two of the towering figures of the 1980s light entertainment-pop cross over world. Now, 18 years since their last album the Rockney duo are being re-launched as the credible grandfathers of British rock n’ roll.

Film review: Beware of Mr Baker (15)

Drummers are axiomatically the madmen of rock, but there's never been a mad drummer quite like Ginger Baker, subject of this hugely enjoyable documentary profile. It gets off to a magnificent start, with a scene of the 73-year-old Baker attacking the film's director, Jay Bulger, with his walking stick – and just gets better.

Alice in Chains in devilishly funny spoof

Alice in Chains are taking promo to a whole new level. The American heavy-metal band have produced a polished mockumentary, titled AIC 23, to promote their new album, The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here, which is out next month. In the 11-minute film, the four band members talk about the band disguised as spoof musicians, with the help of prosthetics by the Oscar-winning make-up artist Matthew Mungle, who worked on Edward Scissorhands, Bram Stoker's Dracula and Schindler's List.

Caught in the net: Ryan's porn again with punk band

Alt-country star Ryan Adams (pictured) has, over the years, released metal, hard rock and hip-hop among his prolific output, so his fans have become accustomed to the unexpected. Now it has emerged that he has formed a punk trio called Pornography, with singer Leah Hennessey and Johnny T Yerington.
