CROSTYX took advantage of Redbridge and Ilford's inactivity at the weekend to move to the top of the Norwich Union East Premier League with a 3-0 victory over the bottom club, Broxbourne, with goals from Paul Diver, Graham Smith and Steve Rookes, writes Bill Colwill. Sir Alec Guinness was turned down for a part in his first preparatory school play because it was thought that he had no talent for acting. Sue Townsend, creator of Adrian Mole, had what she calls a 'vindictive midget' of a careers mistress who advised her to become a telephonist.
