Q. Our 13-year-old son started guitar lessons a year ago, and is something of an aspiring rock star. He'd love to learn more contemporary styles, but that isn't offered at his school. Are there music camps where he could develop his skills?

The first time Mercury nominee Kathryn Williams and guitarist and producer Neill MacColl met, in 2005, she sang a Vashti Bunyan song and cracked a dreadful joke. The second time, the following year, they performed "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face", the standard forever associated with MacColl's parents, folk singers Ewan MacColl and Peggy Seeger. The third time, Williams and MacColl wrote 22 songs together in a week, half of which form the duo's wonderfully delicate album, Two.

When rock stars reach the top of their game, they are prone to making extravagant purchases. And when they've come back down to earth, there's a place for them to dispose of the swag – art auctions. Next week, The Quest for the Holy Grail: the Achievement, a tapestry by Pre-Raphaelite artist Edward Burne-Jones, will go under the hammer at Sotheby's. The masterpiece is expected to fetch £1m and its vendor is none other than Jimmy Page, guitarist in the recently reformed Led Zeppelin.
