Louis Klemantaski was a French photographer devoted to documenting motor racing while it burgeoned during the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s, and the archive that bears his name now holds some 500,000 images of the sport.

Trevor Taylor had a reputation for being unlucky, a hard charger whose "number two" Lotus always seemed to be the one that went wrong, or to whom the big accidents always happened. Blessed with the affability of the Yorkshireman, he was a man at peace with himself and his racing achievements – a one-time hell raiser, long since tamed, who loved to talk as much about his children as he did his days in the driving seat.

You have to wonder if there are any limits now. If it is possible to employ men you vetted, and who carry your name, who go on to rig a race, strategically smash a car into a barrier, risk lives and damnation, and yet you survive, receive a green light to continue unscathed in something ever more loosely described as sport, surely it has to be asked, what is next on the agenda?
