Arts and Entertainment Baseline Junkie: Dizzee Rascal performs on stage

Following a slick performance from Katy B, Dizzee Rascal takes to the stage at Camden’s Roundhouse as the duo perform one of the most urban shows at this year’s iTunes festival. Tonight, Dizzee Rascal goes straight for the gut with a a nine-track set of synth-heavy, bass-trembling drones taken from his new release, The Fifth, an album packed with guest appearances, including Will.I.Am, Robbie Williams and Jessie J.

Album: Ms/Mr, Secondhand Rapture (RCA)

You'd have to say this New York duo, singer Lizzy Plapinger and producer Max Hershenow, have given a fair summation of their debut album with that title, such is both the familiarity and enchantment of the music within.

Django Django at the NME Awards Tour 2013, O2 Academy, Glasgow, Scotland

Django Django, Peace, Palma Violets, Miles Kane, NME Awards tour 2013, O2 Academy, Glasgow

By any critical measure, the NME’s annual tour package of four thrusting young acts broadcasting their sound to the nation has once again chosen well from a pool of artists who are unheard-of, just-rising or deserving of a step-up now their careers are well the way.

Album review: A$AP Rocky, Long.Live (Polo Grounds/RCA)

There's a fine line between "effortless" and "lazy", and A$AP Rocky walks it with nonchalant ease.

Album: Various Artists, Rave On Buddy Holly (Concord)

If Elvis was rock'n'roll's id, then Buddy Holly was its ego, his more cerebral tinkerings with pop's structures opening up avenues that enabled the medium to flourish in myriad different ways.

Diary: Florence and the machine

The sickly-sweet official snaps of proud Prime Ministerial dad David Cameron and his newborn, Florence Rose Endellion, adorned a number of newspapers' front pages yesterday. Yet mother and baby were discharged from the Royal Cornwall Hospital on Friday lunchtime, and driven away quickly in black-windowed people carriers – much to the consternation of the assembled hacks and paps, who'd been hanging around since Tuesday to capture the first sighting of Flo Cam.
