Britney Spears has revealed she has been using crystals to “pray” and “meditate” while quarantining amid the coronavirus pandemic.
On Monday, the 38-year-old shared a picture of the cover of The Crystal Bible by Judy Hall, a book that details types of crystals and their various “spiritual, mental and psychological, emotional and physical effects, plus its use in healing” on Instagram, where she explained that she has been using crystals for guidance.
“Okay… call me weird if you want but I really love crystals and rocks!!!!” Spears wrote. “During this pandemic I’ve had more time to myself so I started a collection of crystals and I now have 33.
“They are stunning and I pray and meditate with them every darn day.”
According to the pop star, whose conservatorship was just extended until at least February 2021 despite her attempts to remove her father as her conservator, she doesn’t use a specific prayer when using the crystals, but rather changes it to fit “what I’m going through”.
“I don’t have a specific prayer because it’s different every time depending on what I’m going through,” she explained. “For instance, yesterday I prayed to find more confidence and grace... asking my spiritual guides to guide me… I usually also burn incense to clear the energy.”
In the post, the Toxic singer said that she has been using crystals and rocks throughout her career, recalling: “I even used to hold a small rock in my pocket when I was nervous for interviews for good luck.”
Explaining that she is taking this time to “find myself,” Spears continued: “When I was little… any time I went outside I would rather stay in the driveway and look for pretty rocks than play. Okay so I was a weird little kid. Hmm… I guess some things never change.”
Spears concluded the post encouraging her followers to “go put some damn rocks in your house”.
The singer’s positive post comes after she asked the Los Angeles Superior Court to remove her father Jamie as her conservator last Tuesday. Spears’ father has been her conservator for 12 years.
Despite the request, the court ruled Wednesday that Jamie will retain control of his daughter’s personal life, career and estate until at least February 2021.
In response to the singer’s crystal post, many fans shared their support and well-wishes for her happiness.
“I’m so glad you’re finding new beautiful things each day,” one person wrote.
Another said: “Yes love this. Surround yourself with good energy.”
Crystals are frequently used for their healing properties, with Healthline stating that “crystals are touted as ancient forms of medicine, with philosophies borrowed from Hinduism and Buddhism.”
However, the outlet notes “it’s important to know that there’s no scientific evidence to support the use of crystals.”
