London may now boast the tallest skyscraper in Europe thanks to the highest part of The Shard's structure being placed on Friday, but the tower is still by no means complete.
Workmen have been busy fitting glass panels to the spire of the building, which now stands at 310m (1,016ft), and carrying out further work on the exterior, which is expected to finish in June.
