He was formerly London Zoo's most-famous and favourite resident. But now Guy the Gorilla (the taxidermy version) has become the most-treasured resident of the National History Museum.

Guy was voted as such by the general public who have visited the Treasures exhibition showcasing 4.5bn years of nature, 70 million specimens and 22 objects.

Of the items on display we gallery-goers like Guy best of all, followed by the Blaschka family's 187 glass anatomical models and a skeleton of the extinct Dodo.

The free permanent exhibition is located in the Cadogan Gallery on the upper mezzanine floor of the Central Hall (overlooking the Diplodocus).
