Junior Apprentice artist to stage pop-up exhibition

Tom Lewis, an artist given prime-time exposure earlier this year when he was singled out by contestants on the BBC’s Junior Apprentice, is to stage a pop-up exhibition in London.

The east London-based artist helped Emma Walker’s team to win Episode 4 of the adolescent version of the reality television show in which individuals compete for a place in business magnate Alan Sugar’s empire.

Lewis’ work sold out in the immediate aftermath of the show’s broadcast. Since then the waiting list for his paintings has stretched into next year.

His quirky paintings combine his interest in myths and legends with Japanese anime, graffiti art and more traditional techniques like woodcuts and stencilling.

The new exhibition tells the story of Lewis’ fictional heroine Megan, part-adventurer and part-schoolgirl.
