Etchings by Canaletto, engravings by Hogarth and prints by David Hockney can all be procured at the London Original Print Fair 2011 which opens its doors today.

Prints on sale range from £100 to £100,000 and have been produced by more than 50 different artists, both Old Masters, established contemporary and emerging.

The fair is open for three days from today at the Royal Academy of Arts near Piccadilly Circus.

Gary Hume, Marc Quinn, Peter Blake and Richard Hamilton are among the contemporary artists showing work.

Artists who have contributed to the fair since it began in 1985 include Christopher Mendez Picasso expert Frederick Mulder, William Weston, Gordon Samuel of Osborne Samuel and Hilary Gerrish.

This is the first time in its history that the fair will also showcase work from the print department of the Royal Academy Schools.

“Over the past two years we have been inviting artists, some of whom are Royal Academicians, to work with us to produce high-quality prints," Eileen Cooper RA, Head of Printmaking, says.

"They come to our print workshops and work side by side with our students to produce a wide variety of limited edition prints, some of which will be exhibited [this year].”
