American icon Warhol's works on display in Argentina

With Andy Warhol exhibits currently at art museums from Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Athens, Greece, a show displaying the pop artists' work is also traveling around South America.

The first major exposition of Warhol's work in Argentina, the show has been organized for South America with the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh and the Museo de Arte del Banco de la República in Bogota, Colombia.

The exhibition displays 140 works during The Factory period (1961-1968), when the pop artist created iconic American images such as Campbell's soup cans, Coca-Cola bottles, and portraits of celebrities from Marilyn Monroe to Elizabeth Taylor, producing prints with a silkscreen method.

The 26 paintings, 57 silk screens, 39 photographs, two installations ( Silver Clouds and Cow wallpaper), and 14 films, including The Chelsea Girls, Lonesome Cowboys and screen tests of actors including Dennis Hopper and Edie Sedgwick, then travels to Pinacoteca in Sao Paulo, Brazil, May 15 - July 18, 2010.
